Social App 



A mobile app designed to solve a modern problem: how to avoid people. Based on the idea that our social circles exist in a range of spaces, and the idea of navigating these spaces with uncertainty of who we might run into, the Clash app is designed to manage social interactions. 

The app's design counts with a simple color scheme, red on one end of the spectrum and blue on the other. It's simple to color code your relationships, and a gradient exists in between for second and third-degree connections. The user interface is based on 3 modes of usage, reorganizing the same data into different categories for the user to browse: people, places, and temporal events. 


InquiryThis project began with a modern question: how can we avoid people we don’t want to run into? In the internet age, there are already tools that track people like Find My Friends or Snapchat maps. I imagined a way to streamline that concept, designing a system specifically for social network management.



Research and ProcessI explored the concept of social network management through metaphor, envisioning a weather map of relationships to visualize proximity and potential encounters. I mapped out how different users might interact with the app and developed a cohesive user flow to reflect those behaviors.

OutcomeThe final project is a functional prototype with a minimal color scheme, using red on one end of the spectrum and blue on the other. This allows users to easily color-code relationships, with a gradient to represent second- and third-degree connections. The interface is structured around three modes: people, places, and temporal events. Each mode reorganizes the same data into different categories to support intuitive browsing and navigation.
